The Forex or Foreign Exchange Market is open for traders all the time, it is a 24 hour market and Forex traders can use their computers, lap tops or any devices they trade on at any time of the day or night.

The only time the Forex Market closes is during the weekend. Currency values do not stop moving on the weekend, of course, however Forex trading stops.

The times of the FX Market are all based on the Greenwich timing, so trading starts from 20:15 GMT on Sunday until the 22: 00 GMT on Friday. People around the world have to adjust the timing based on the GMT timing, and not assume that it will close at 22:00 local time.

If someone is trading on a Friday night and has an open position, once the FX market closes based on GMT time, the position will be paused and not trading can take place until Sunday evening GMT time, that is when the position will continue from where it left off.

It is preferable that traders close their positions completely on Friday night and resume trading on Monday.

Forex companies keep watch on the market around the clock on a daily basis, with different staff members taking shifts to watch the platforms and markets all night, weekends and international public holidays are the only times a Forex company closes.
